Run Amok Books publishes book-length fiction and non-fiction. Run Amok Crime publishes book-length crime fiction and crime anthologies. Our unofficial motto is "...go a little crazy." We think that speaks for itself. Reading periods vary depending on special projects, such as anthologies or book contests.

Run Amok Books is seeking applicants for two volunteer positions: Communications Director; and Social Media Coordinator. Both are unpaid, remote positions that will require approximately 4-5 hours/week. We ask that successful candidates commit to a minimum term of six months.

Duties of the communications director will include setting up and maintaining the technical aspects of a blogsite. The successful applicant will also update/maintain the Run Amok Books website. Experience with Wordpress and Adobe Dreamweaver is strongly preferred but not required.

The successful applicant for social media coordinator must have knowledge of various social media platforms and some technical expertise with those platforms is expected. The successful applicant should be a creative and motivated individual, who will help to expand the reach and audience of Run Amok Books through social media.

Interested individuals should apply using the form below. Please upload a resume and cover letter. Once the positions are filled, all applicants will be contacted by Run Amok staff in a timely fashion.

Run Amok Crime is seeking submissions for a new crime-fiction anthology to be entitled Jacked. Make of that what you will. Us, we are simply seeking the very best collection of crime stories we can put together. Specifically, we are looking for both genre and non-genre pieces. The only criteria is that somewhere in there, a law needs to be fractured.

We will be considering short-shorts, novelettes of up to 10,000 words, and everything between. While we will lean towards unpublished works, reprints will be considered so long as you, the writer, retain copyright. (In the case of reprints, please provide complete publication information.) And yes, we want to hear from first-timers as much as established writers.

Submissions will open on Nov. 1, 2021 and close on Feb. 15, 2022. Please include a one-paragraph bio with  your submission.
